UPI-AGRO sugar factories achieved record results in production season 2018-2019

On January 31, 2019, «UPI-AGRO» sugar refineries completed sugar beet processing season, which lasted more than 150 days. For the first time in the whole history, two sugar refineries of the company processed 2,189 million tonnes of sugar beet and produced 291 thousand tonnes of sugar — 16% of total Ukrainian sugar production.

The improvement of production technology, in particular, the unprecedented project for the installation of ion exchange columns for beet juice decalcification, allowed the company to increase production of I category sugar to 60% of the total volume and produce sugar with 30 IСUMSA.

Such high production rates became possible due to the beet yield increasing up to 65 t/ha, and expanding the partnership programs in sugar beet cultivation. This season more than 20% of the processed raw materials were brought to the refineries by third-party beet-growers, which also became a new record for «UPI-AGRO».

It is necessary to note the achievements of Kryzhopil Sugar Refinery, which established a new record in the volumes of sugar produced by one enterprise. The refinery produced 171 thousand tonnes of sugar — the highest level for 195 years of sugar production in Ukraine!
