UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO reported results of livestock breeding production in 2020

UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO reported results of the livestock breeding production. According to the results 2020 the gross milk yield of the company’s farms amounted 27 789 thousand kg. At the same time, the actual productivity per cow at UPI-AGRO amounted 9,210 kg, which is 38% higher than the average Ukrainian index (6,689 kg).

In 2020 the company continued the program of selling heifers. During the year, 405 heifers of the Holstein-Friesian breed of American breeding were sold. All heifers were sold to domestic farms.

Besides, in 2020 UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO has completed the second and the third stage of reconstruction of the dairy management system based on the Canadian technology. In September-October, the cow barns "Canada-2" and "Canada-3" in the heifer complex in the village of Dzygovka, Yampolsky district were put into operation.

“We started reconstruction of cow housing system in 2017. In 2020 we achieved the final stage. Currently, the company has put into operation three cow barns on Canadian technology for 1104 places. And now we can see the result. On farms with the Canadian technology, we received 10,200 kg of milk per cow. While on farms with "Soviet" technology milk yields range from 7,800 kg to 9,200 kg. At the same time, the genetic potential of our dairy herd allows to get 11,000 kg of milk per year”, comments Maxim Armashov, Director of Livestock Breeding Department of UPI-AGRO.

As of January 1, 2021, the cattle herd of UPI-AGRO numbers 6000 heads including 2700 milk cows. The basis of the herd is the Holstein-Friesian breed of American selection, which is the most productive dairy breed in the world.
